It doesn’t take much to get me in a fall state of mind. With the first brisk morning, I’m grabbing my cozy sweater, tugging on my cowboy boots, and lighting a pumpkin-scented candle. And once the leaves start to turn, I’m heading to the local nail salon to do away with my beachy summer nail polish colors and go with something inspired by autumn.

Fall nail colors don’t need to be drab! I turned to Rianna Basurto, the Director of Marketing and Brand Development at Bellacures (a nail salon with eight locations in California) to determine what is trending for 2024, and, lucky for us, there are lots of options! Whether you’re looking for something bold or more subtle, you can find the perfect nail design this season.

Rianna says, “Fall 2024, nail trends will embrace a mix of bold colors, unique textures, and artistic designs. You can expect rich, deep colors, such as deep burgundy, forest green, navy blue, and charcoal gray.” For something a bit more daring and glamorous, she recommends metallic accents, either for full coverage or as accent details like tips or stripes.

Rianna notes that matte finishes will continue to be trendy, and, for an attention-grabbing look, go for abstract art. Rianna explains, “Abstract nail art will take center stage, with designs featuring bold shapes, splashes of color, and artistic lines. These patterns can be a fun way to showcase creativity and individuality.” She also expects nail jewelry, gothic and moody colors, and dried flower or nature-inspired designs to be popular.

French Twist

According to Rianna, “The classic French manicure gets a modern update with twists like colored tips, geometric shapes, or negative space. Expect variations that play with traditional ideas to give them a fresh, contemporary edge.”

Metallic Accents

“Metallics will be prominent, with gold, silver, and copper adding a touch of glamour. Metallic polish can be used for full coverage or as accent details like tips or stripes,” Rianna explains.

Orange-Red Polish

A classic orange-red never goes out of style. This striking color gives a nod to the colors of the season and will work with any fall color palette.

Nude Tones with a Twist

Rianna tells us, “Nude nails will be updated with subtle variations like soft metallic sheens, delicate shimmer, or unique finishes, offering a refined and modern take on classic neutrals.”

Speckled Colorful Fall Nail Design

Take a colorful approach to your fall manicure. Pair seasonal fall colors like yellow, orange, turquoise, and burgundy with a fun speckled pattern.

Sparkly Navy Fall Nails

This deep gel color looks almost black, but at a second glance it’s actually a navy covered with sparkles. Perfect for any fall party.
