The new 7-star homes busting myths around sustainable design

Energy-efficient homes are often associated with an expensive price tag, but these new designs from a Melbourne-based builder are both sustainable and accessible.

Henley Homes has unveiled a collection of 7-star energy efficient home designs, which factor in elements from the orientation and climate zone to the efficiency of every window.

The Mainvue collection is the first of its kind from an Australian volume builder, allowing home buyers to enjoy a minimal environmental footprint and maximum savings.

Myth-busting sustainable design
From May 2024, new homes in Victoria must meet minimum 7-star energy efficiency standards due to new Government legislation to improve accessibility and sustainability – but Henley forged ahead and are delivering their customers all the 7-star benefits much sooner.

Backed by its $7 billion, 330+ year-old parent company Sumitomo Forestry Group, Henley has undertaken significant research and development to create home designs with minimal environmental impact.

Traditionally these kinds of homes have been costly to build and buy, but Henley has set out to continue making them accessible for all home buyers, with sustainability meticulously built in as standard.

Naturally, there’s also the option to be solar-powered to generate green energy for the home, and save on power bills with a 6.24kW JA Solar System including 16 x 390W solar panels and a Solis 5kW Inverter.

However, what truly sets the Mainvue range apart is the meticulous sustainable design. Everything from the orientation and floorplan to the facade, materials, and internal fixtures and fittings has been considered for energy efficiency.

Henley hasn’t skimped on space or comfort either, with each design in the range offering numerous living zones and a selection of stylish inclusions and finishes, from 900mm Smeg appliances, to high ceilings, double glazed windows and Stiebel Eltron hot water system.

Regardless of size and floor plan, buyers will be guaranteed plenty of room to move.

“The Mainvue Collection offers expansive living areas, emphasising the importance of ample space accompanied by great affordability,” says Hayes.

“By incorporating sustainability and space, Henley’s Mainvue collection also allows for generous outdoor areas, cleverly positioned leisure rooms for double-storey homes and generous master bedrooms, providing families with the best of both worlds.”

Buyers are able to choose from an extensive range of colours and fixtures to personalise their facade, as well as flexible interior inclusions across paint, cabinetry, benchtops and appliances.

Homes start at $268,900 for a single-storey design and from $351,900 for a double-storey home.

Exclusive benefits
There’s no time like the present to secure one of Henley’s 7-star house designs.

Right now, Henley has a fund to pay $1,000 a month off customers home loans for two years. All made possible by Henley’s $7 billion parent company, Sumitomo Forestry Group.

In line with Henley’s high sustainability standards, buyers can choose to go for a Solar All Electric Mainvue home or continue using gas for cooking and heating, with the addition of solar panels to reduce electricity bills.

Either option comes with eligibility for the Victorian Solar Rebate of up to $1,400, even though Henley’s team install the solar panels themselves.
